Abstract

624,200. Clutch plates. SMALL & PARKES, Ltd., and PUBLIC TRUSTEE, [Representative of KAY, A.]. June 11, 1947, No. 15317. [Class 80 (ii)] A clutch plate comprises a metal disc A having a radial gap a<1> between each pair of segments a forming the disc, the gap housing a U-shaped spring C, the outer surface of the legs of which extend beyond the surface of the disc to exert a pressure on the annuli of friction material B secured on each side of the disc. The friction annuli B are attached to the disc A by brass ferrules and cork rivets b, the disc being bolted to a disc D2 having a bonded rubber connection D to a second disc D<1> rigid with a splined hub E. The springs C are arranged to exert their pressure at points near the inner circumference of the annuli B.
