623,782. Electric condensers. SPURR, P. A., and PYE, Ltd. Feb. 27, 1947, No. 5654. [Class 37] [Also in Group XXX] In a voltage multiplying circuit in which high voltage D.C. is produced from high frequency A.C. A winding of a transformer feeding filament current to a thermionic valve forms one electrode of a smoothing condenser. A high-frequency oscillator valve D energizes two diodes V1, V2 arranged with condenser C1 as a doubler with filaments fed respectively from the outer and middle strips a, b of three conducting insulated strips a, b, c wound round a core m (Fig. 2A), which act as secondaries of transformer winding T. Strips a, b, and b, c also form electrodes of smoothing condensers c2, c3. Fig. 3 shows a construction in which the core M carrying the strips forming condensers c2, c3 and a similarly formed condenser c1 at opposite ends and transformer primary T in the middle is arranged in a case s with the two valves V1, V2 lying between the condensers.
