Abstract

623,036. Sails. LIGHTFOOT, C. M. Aug. 6, 1946, No. 23215. [Class 115] A sail has an aerofoil section, the camber of which can be varied by adjusting the position of the flexible leading portion 6a. A slot effect is obtained at this leading edge by an adjustable foresail 2. Linkages 24, 9, 13 and 15 are provided, connected by cables 20, 26, 27, so that the mainsail leading edge, and the foresail are adjusted simultaneously.
