Abstract
622,594. Temperature-responsive actuating-elements. BOLESKY, J. D. March 31, 1947. No. 8677. [Class 64(ii)] [Also in Group XXXVII] A snap-acting bimetallic plate used in a thermal switch (Group XXXVII) has two positions of concavity, the plate moving upon a rise to a predetermined temperature, from its first position, Fig. 3, to its second position, Fig. 4, where it is latched to prevent automatic reclosure of the contacts of the switch as the temperature falls. The bimetallic plate 34 is centrally mounted on a rigid supporting member 32 and though substantially circular has ears or lugs to carry the switch contacts 41, 42. One of the ears is extended to form a slotted upstanding flange 39 which co-operates with a spring-loaded latch member 48.
