Abstract
622,065. Grinding and polishing. WHITE, T. March 10, 1947, No. 6605. [Class 60] In a sanding-machine having one or more rotating abrasive drums 3, the work is fed under the drums on an endless band 12 which is mounted in a framework 7 removable as a complete unit from the machine without disturbing the drums. The band 12 runs over rollers 17, 18 journalled at the ends of the framework 7, which is supported by rollers 16 on two channel sections 5, 6; these sections are vertically adjustable to suit different thicknesses of work on pins on the main machine frame co-operating with guides on the channel sections. Plates for locating and locking the unit in position are fitted either on the framework 7 or on the channel sections. When the unit is being withdrawn from the machine, it may be supported on portable rails 22.
