Abstract
621,720. Two-part couplings combined with switches. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Feb. 27, 1947, No. 5707. Convention date, Feb. 28, 1946. [Class 38 (i)] [Also in Group XXXV] A socket outlet on an electric cooker for an auxiliary heating circuit supplied through a two-pin plug (see Group XXXV) comprises three equally spaced sockets 23, 24 and 25 and a shutter 27 of insulating material having two apertures 28, 29 so as to expose the centre socket 24 and one of the outer sockets 23, 25 at a time. The sockets 23, 25 are connected respectively through a time switch and direct to the supply. A protuberance 37 opens a switch 18'in the oven circuit when the shutter exposes sockets 23, 24. The shutter is biassed by a spring 30 so as to allow the switch 18 to reclose when the plug is withdrawn from sockets 23, 24, and has a stop 35 to limit the travel of the shutter.
