Abstract

603,191. Two-part couplings combined with switches. PRECISION-ELECTRIC, Ltd., and CHEETHAM, A. S. Nov. 30, 1946, No. 29081/45. [Class 38 (i)] A thermostat is formed as a unit with a plug for direct coupling by pins or sockets to an immersion heater or other heating apparatus carrying co-operating sockets or pins, one of which is connected permanently to a supply lead and the other through the heating element to the other supply lead. As shown, the thermostat is in the casing w secured to a base q from which pins t project into the end of a water heater unit being received in sockets _p therein connected to the mains and heaters b, the circuit being completed by the thermostat contacts when the plug is in position.
