Abstract
619,743. Electric resistance ovens. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Dec. 23, 1946, No. 37777. Convention date, Dec. 28, 1945. [Class 39 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXVI] An electric oven, provided with removable heating units 15 with terminals 19 engaging supply sockets 20 mounted at the rear of the oven, is characterised by projections 31 on the oven walls coacting with projections 32 on the heating units such that when the projections on the heating units are on the socket side of the projections on the oven walls, the said terminals and sockets are fully engaged. When, however, the projections on the heating units are on the alternative side of the projections on the oven walls the said terminals and sockets are not engagable. The particular oven described is provided with two such heating units, a sheathed tubuiar heater filled with an insulating powder at the bottom of the oven and a helical resistance element mounted in insulators supported from a pan-like reflector at the top of the oven.
