Abstract

A synthetic bonding agent consists of carbamide resin and evaporated sulphite waste liquor constituting not more than 50 per cent by weight of the mixture, calculated as dry substance, and preferably 10-30 per cent. The mixture is employed in aqueous solution. A suitable mixture comprises 80 parts carbamide resin powder, 20 parts powdered evaporated sulphite liquor, and 75 parts water. The sulphite liquor is stated to have a hardening action on the resin.
