Abstract
619,938. Valve amplifying circuits. ERDELY ES SZABO. Feb. 10, 1940, No. 2609. Convention date, April 24, 1939. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Aug. 12, 1940.] [Class 40 (vi)] In a thermionic valve amplifier particularly for an electro-cardiograph, the supply voltage is subjected to at least two stages of stabilization, one of which comprises a voltage stabilizing tube, and the other or further stages comprise either a second stabilizing tube, or a voltage stabilizing transformer, or a motor generator having high inertia. As shown, the anode and screen supply voltages of the input stage 1 are stabilized by resistance 13 and fourstage stabilizer tube 10, followed by resistance 12 and two stabilizer tubes 6, 7. The second and third amplifier stages 14, 15 have their supply voltages stabilized by the tube 10 only. One of the stabilizer stages may be replaced by a voltage stabilizing transformer or a motor generator connected to the supply source which may be A.C. or D.C. mains, or a car battery. Further, the anode resistance 11 of the input tube is adjusted so that the effects of fluctuations of the anode and screen grid voltages are self-compensating.
