Abstract
619,908. Cooking-vessels. ANDELA, N. H. M. Nov. 6, 1946, No. 33043. Convention date, Sept. 24, 1945. [Class 66] A self-lifting cooking-vessel K has retractable legs A sliding within housings B secured to the vessel and each leg has an extension G carrying a barb F and a spring N and is held in the retracted position by the barb F engaging a catch E fixed in the housing B. The tips of the extensions G are pressed outwards to sustain the aforesaid engagement by resilient arms D secured to the lid O. In this position the springs N are under compression struts P depend from the lid and carry a dished plate C. Steam generated below the plate C forces it, the lid O and the arms D upwards, resulting in the removal of outward pressure on the tips of extensions G and the barbs F slip off the catches E under the action of the springs N which then push the legs A out of the housings B and the vessel is thus raised above the heating surface.
