Abstract

874,848. Electric fish fryers. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. May 12, 1960 [May 22, 1959], No. 17508/59. Class 39(3). An electric cooking appliance such as a fish fryer comprises a vessel 1, an electric heating element 2 pivotally mounted for movement to and from an operative position within the vessel 1 and an electric switch 8 operated bymovement of the electric heating element 2 from the operative position to break the electric supply circuit to the heating element 2. The vessel 1 which contains fat or oil contains a sheathed wire heating element secured to a terminal box 4 pivotally mounted on a 'swivel bolt 5. The push button switch 8 is kept on by pressing against the side of the vessel but is spring biased to the off position when the heating element is lifted out.
