Abstract
281,153. McNaughton, J. A. Dec. 18, 1926. Heating and cooking vessels.-In a vessel for pressing and cooking hams &c., the cross bar 10 has a centrally arranged pin 13 sliding in a slot 12 in a lug upstanding from the pressing-plate 6, compression springs 8 being interposed between the plate 6 and the cross bar which has toothed flaps 14 pivoted thereto engageable with lugs 17 on the sides of the vessel. The flaps are wide to present a large bearing surface to the lugs 17. The springs 8 are positioned by lugs 7, 9 on the plate 6 and bar 10. A number of false bottoms 4 having legs 5 of various lengths to suit various sizes of hams are provided. The bottom 2 of the vessel is apertured to receive a disc 3 which is pressed in from the outside to facilitate removal of the ham.
