Abstract

Heating and cooking vessels. - A meat press comprises a container a, a bar c bridging the top of the container and secured thereto by slots, lugs or hooks on the container engaging the ends of the bar, and a spring or springs positioned between the bar c and a pressing-plate b which may be embossed or recessed to impart an ornamental shape to the surface of the meat. When lugs or hooks are used, the bar may be engaged therewith or disengaged therefrom by a turning movement in its own plane. As shown, however, the bar is held in slots, a<1> in the sides of the container. The springs d may be coil springs or blade springs. To distribute the pressure evenly, the bar c carries a plate e to which springs are secured, the lower ends, if desired, being secured to the plate b, so that the bar, springs, and plate are removable as a single unit.
