Abstract

619,882. Loud-speaker diaphragms. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., SIMPSON, H., and BOCOCK, W. A. Aug. 8, 1946, No. 23535. [Class 40 (iv)] An annular diaphragm for a moving coil closed type loud-speaker unit comprises inner and outer annular portions 1, 2, secured together and having a cylindrical coil former 6 integrally formed with one or both said annular portions. The diaphragm is suspended from the corrugated portions 4, 5 of the outer and inner annular portions respectively. Suitable combinations of thickness and type of material may be used and in a given example one annular portion is made of metal whilst the other is made of moulded paper.
