[Class 87 (ii)] A machine for casting concrete beams and blocks comprises a measuring box a containing enough concrete for a beam or series of blocks b and a rolling structure g containing a mould f (with transverse partitions when blocks are required), whereby the mould may be raised in position under the measuring box and subsequently inverted to deposit the cast beams or blocks on the ground. The box a, and a hopper e, are mounted on a wheeled carriage c, and the box a has a plate n which closes the bottom of the hopper when the box is slid over the mould. One side b of the mould is pivoted to the roller g and i and can be moved by a lever j. When the mould is full the roller g is rolled over so that the mould becomes lowermost and inverted and the lever j is operated so that the side b is moved clear of the casting therein which is therefore deposited on the ground, and the roller g is then rolled clear. The roller g can be raised by levers k to transport it on the carriage c. Rails may be provided for the wheels d, and semi-cylindrical tracks g<1> may also roll on them. Means for vibrating the mould and for reinforcing the casting and giving it any desired shape may be provided. The Provisional Specification mentions that the base on which the roller g rolls may be slightly inclined to cause rolling in the direction to deliver the casting, that the roller may also have wheels to assist in positioning it, and that the bottom of the measuring box may be slidable or pivoted and can be displaced to discharge the concrete into the mould by the final movement thereof, the mould in this case being brought under the box.
