Abstract
618,362. Electron discharge apparatus. SADIR-CARPENTIER. Oct. 25, 1946, No. 31794. Convention date; July 15, 1943. Drawings to Specification. [Class 39 (i)] An electrode (e.g. anode) lead of an electron discharge tube, particularly a short-wave tube, is solid through the seal and over a portion within the envelope consists of a tubular conductor of such cross-section as to present substantially lower conductivity for heat than, and substantially the same electrical impedance per unit length as a solid conductor of the same material and overall dimensions. The tubular portion is preferably of tantalum or nickel and has a wall thickness of a few hundredths of a millimetre. A further solid portion may intervene between the tubular portion and the electrode. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 606,950.
