Abstract
617,806. Fastenings. B. E. T. FEDERATION, Ltd., TWIDLE, A., and GOUGH, F. J. Oct. 8, 1946. No. 30043. [Class 44] A fastening, e.g. for a removable seat, comprises one or more flexible studs c, Fig. 1, having re-entrant surfaces e to engage a fixed part h of another member, e.g. a rectangular frame of tubular construction. The studs may be of circular section having conical tips d. They are mounted one at each corner so that the seat may readily be pressed into and out of position on the frame. The studs may be of rubber bonded to a metal bolt a having a wide head b. Alternatively the bolt or a nut may be moulded inside the stud. The bolt may be secured by a nut, a spring clip or a circlip. In another form the stud has two re-entrant surfaces such as e to provide alternative positions for engagement. As shown in Fig 10, the stud c is mounted for eccentric rotation on a motor car bonnet to engage a fixed lug u so that after the stud has been passed through the hole v it may be turned by an outside handle for tightening.
