Abstract

616,835. Electric heating. SOC. ANON. DES ETABLISSEMENTS CHALUVIA. June 12, 1946, No. 17625. Convention date, April 24. [Class 39 (iii)] An electric heating appliance, e.g., an iron, is adapted to receive a removable supplementary weight 5, and is fitted with at least two resistances, one being the main heater, the other, 22, being short-circuited through a contactor device 6 on inserting the weight 5. Two main heating resistances, of which 21 is one, lie adjacent the resistance 22, a top plate 3 enclosing them. A cover 4 forms a tunnel in which may be inserted the weight 5, a spring-loaded pin 19 holding it in position by co-operating with a groove 26 in the top of the weight, which enters the iron through a door 8. A lever 20 permits raising or lowering of the pin 19.
