Abstract
422,836. Plug couplings. KONINKLIJKE FABRIEK INVENTUM NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP, (formerly NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP FABRIEK VAN INSTRUMENTEN EN ELECTRISCHE APPARATEN INVENTUM), Bilthoven, Holland. July 31, 1934, No. 22341. Convention date, Aug. 2, 1933. [Class 38 (i)] In electrical heaters provided with removable plug-in elements, the insulating block 5 of ceramic material which carries the plugpin 2 is secured to the element-carrier 7 by fitting it into a trough at the end of the carrier with an interposed sheet of mica 6, sliding over it a cap 8 as shown in Fig. 5, and securing the cap by screws 11 passing through lugs 10 and a cross bar 12, and serving also to fix the protective guard. The cap 8 has wings 16 for use when inserting or removing an element to prevent accidental contact by the fingers and a tongue 9 which is engaged by an earthing spring 17 on the frame 15. The pin 2 is loosely held in the block 5 by a riveted bushing 1, which also carries the tongue 3 for the screw 4 which connects the plug to the element. The Specification also refers to a known construction in which the insulation for the plugpin consists of mica discs and rings, the whole being held in place by riveting over the extremities of the element-carrier.
