Abstract
616,685. Securing rails to sleepers. FOXLEE, R. W., PERCIVAL, B., and EDWARDS, J. A. Sept. 23, 1946, No. 28473. [Class 104 (ii)] In rail securing means comprising a rail clip 15 and a wedge clamp 30, as in Specification 383,720, one or both of the wedging surfaces consists of two surfaces separated by an intervening recess or space. The clip 15 has two inner and two outer bearing surfaces 18, 22 engaged by similar surfaces 31, 32 on the clamp 30. Surfaces 18 are separated by a recess 19 which may be carried under the clip as at 20. Recess 19 is engaged by a projection 29 on the clamp. Similarly, the recess between surfaces 22 on the clip is engaged by a rib 33 on the clamp. The tongue 21 on the clip may be dispensed with. The clips and clamps may be pressings, stampings, drop-forgings or castings.
