Abstract

Shoring.-A strut for use in mines comprises two lengths of tram rails placed back to back and a clamp 20 adapted to enclose wholly one rail and to grip, by projections 16, the flanges of the second rail at their overlapping position, the whole being fixed by a screw member 21 in the clamp pressing the rails, together. The strut may be used as a back rest for a boring machine.
