[Class 52 (iii)] [Also in Group XX] A stand for patients under X-ray examination comprises a table 1 and legs 2, 3 pivoted thereto at one end 5 and at the centre 4 respectively, and so proportioned that, when the table is vertical the leg 2 lies along the floor and the leg 3 acts as a shore. From the position shown in Fig. 1 the lower pivot 7 on leg 2 is moved to the left to tilt the table and then the pivot 6 at the lower end of the leg 3 is moved to the right to bring the table 1 to the vertical position, Fig. 2. In a modified form, to change the position from that shown in Fig. 5 to that shown in Fig. 6 the centre leg 9 is rotated anti-clockwise until the table 8 and an end leg 10 are co-linear and then the pivot 12 of the leg 10 is lowered to bring the table 8 vertical. A stop 15 engaging the leg 9 maintains the table in adjusted position; the upper part 16 of the stop may be removable to give the table an inclined position. The parts are moved by a motor and spring or hydraulic means are provided to counteract the weight of the stand.
