Abstract

A soda lime gas absorbent is prepared by admixing hydrated lime (69.75), kieselguhr (15), zinc oxide (10) or a soluble zinc salt, e.g. chloride or sulphate, sodium hydroxide (5.25) and water to form a paste, drying, granulating, screening, and remoistening to a 11 - 13 per cent water content by passage past an atomizing jet. The figures in brackets indicate preferred parts by weight. Specifications 509,403 and 515,287 are referred to.
