Abstract

615,171. Electric heating. ELFSON, Ltd., and DAWES, J. A. July 31, 1946, No. 22768. [Class 39 (iii)] [Also in Group XIV] A combined firescreen and table comprises a panel 1 supporting an electric heating element, the panel being hingedly connected at its underside at 8 to a stand 11 and normally assuming a vertical position, but being adapted to be swung into a horizontal position, in which position it is secured by a foldable leg 18 hingedly connected at 16 to the panel 1 at a point remote from the hinge 8. The heating element is arranged in a casing 4 in a central opening in the panel 1. A resilient clip 21 secures the leg 18 in its extended position, and a lug 15 on the frame 11 operates with a similar clip on a bracket 9 on the underside of the panel 1 when it is being used as a table. The Provisional Specification states that the apparatus may be used for heating a vessel, e.g. a coffee percolator.
