Abstract
593,492. Bracket tables &c. STUART, H. D., and CASTLES, R. J. Feb. 23, 1945, No. 4624. [Class 52(v)] A folding bracket table or shelf 1 for attachment to a wall, desk, dresser, cupboard &c. has a stop member 8 pivoted on a pin 6 at its rear edge adapted to bear against the wall &c. and engage beneath a fixed bar 3 spaced from the wall when the table is in a horizontal position. On turning the table upwardly about the pivot 6 into a vertical position it may be slid downwardly between the wall and the bar 3 and supported by a stop 12 resting on the bar. As shown the bar 3 is fixed between vertical flanges 10 of a member 4 pivoted at 14 to a dresser 13 or other support with a friction washer 15 so that the table can be turned to a suitable angle for reading e.g. over a bed.
