Abstract

613,046. Crutches. KLAUSNITZER, F., and BATTLES, G. W. Nov. 27, 1945, No. 32031. [Class 81(ii)] A crutch has a sleeve 13 attached to the lower end of its shank 5 in sliding telescopic engagement with a sleeve 15 secured to a ground engaging member 10 (with rubber ferule 12) a bolt 18 attached axially to the lower end of shank 5 and extending slidably through a holding disc 17 secured to the sleeve 15, the bolt head 19 engaging the under face of the holding disc when the device is extended, and a helical spring 21 surrounding the bolt and arranged between the end face of shank 5 and the upper face of the holding disc. A rivet 14 passes through the sleeve 13, the shank 5 and the bolt 18 to secure them rigidly.
