Abstract
611,957. Weft stop-motions for circular looms. FAYOLLE, M. May 14, 1946, No. 14560. Convention date, Nov. 30, 1945. [Classes 142(i) and 142(ii)] As the shuttle 4 traverses the shed, it is accompanied (outside the shed) by a drum 26 rotated by the shuttle driving mechanism so that radially projecting fingers 18 penetrate the warp sheet and sweep through a normally clear path in the shed. When the weft 8 fails, a member 1 falls as shown, causing a finger 18 to turn on its pivot, thereby swinging a block 24 (suspended on springs 22) against a contact 25 to close an electric circuit. It is stated that the fingers 18 may be arranged to move radially inwards on meeting the member 1, and that they may operate a mechanical relay instead of an electric switch.
