[Class 38 (iv)] The condenser 10 and series choke coil 11 for an A.C. arc-welding circuit are of constant value and are connected in the secondary circuit of an auxiliary variable-ratio transformer connected in series preferably with the secondary winding of supply transformer 3 and the welding load 5; preferably, the auxiliary transformer 8 has the number of secondary turns variable by a tapping 12.
