Abstract
610,716. Plate racks. ORME, EVANS, & CO., Ltd., and PUSEY, H. O. Aug. 3, 1945, No. 20059. [Class 28(ii)] [Also in Group XI] In a stowable plate rack for use on cooking and kitchen appliances, a carrier element adjustably mounted in or on supporting means so as to be movable from a stowed to an extended position carries a shelf or grid fitting snugly against or in it in the stowed position, and has means, controlled by movement of said grid or shelf to and from its operative position, for retaining said carrier in the extended position when the shelf is opened out. The invention is shown applied to a cooker as described in Specification, 610,717, [Group XI], in which the carrier 1 is formed of an inverted U of channel-shaped metal sliding in the hollow back corner members of said cooker. Disposed inside and pivoted to the legs of the carrier 1, and connected by a link 19, is a lever 21, and an arm carrying the shelf 10. Raising the carrier to clear the lever 21 of the tubular guide 4 and dropping the shelf 10 to the limit allowed by the heel 17 raises the lever 21 to the retaining position shown in Fig. 3.
