Abstract
609,555. Hot-water boilers. COLLMAN, G. March 15, 1946, No. 8167. [Class 64(i)] A hot water storage apparatus comprises a transportable cabinet A, Fig. 1, which is divided into compartments A<1>, A<2> containing respectively a cold water tank F<1> and a hot water cylinder G from the top of which at a point on its axis is led a pipe H branching into a vertical hot water delivery pipe H<1> and an expansion pipe H<2>. A cold water transfer pipe G<2> leads from the cold water tank at a point in line with the axis of the hot water cylinder to a point G<3> at the lower end of the latter. A cold water supply pipe F<2> passes down inside the cabinet to a point below the floor D. The water in cylinder G may be heated by an immersion heater or alternatively by an external heating apparatus via pipes J and J<1>, the connections being made immediately below the floor D. Bars K may be fitted in compartment A<2> so that it can be used as a drying cupboard. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the hot-water delivery pipe H is connected to pipes H<1> and H<2> via an external pipe which forms a towel rail. A third compartment A<3> is provided for making the necessary pipe connections.
