Abstract

608,226. Presses for dental flasks &c. CUSHING, D. M., and HUBBARD, W. H. June 14, 1945, No. 15168. [Class 87(ii)] A press, for use with dental flasks. which may be used for applying either direct or spring- loaded pressure, comprises a plate 4 slidable on guide rods 2 fixed to a base plate 1, and an apertured rod 5 slidably arranged in a crosshead 3 and having one end screw-threaded to engage in a screw-threaded bush 6 on the plate 4. To apply spring pressure, the rod 5 is screwed to its full extent in to the bush 6, a spring 12 is positioned between a washer 14 and a cotter pin 10, inserted through an appropriate hole 9 in the rod, and the rod is then unscrewed to exert the required pressure. To exert direct pressure, after screwing the rod in to the bush, the pin 10 is inserted in a hole 9 directly beneath the washer 14 and the rod is then unscrewed, the spring being allowed to rest on the bush 6.
