Abstract
606,064. Fuel briquettes. POWELL DUFFRYN, Ltd., JONES, D. C. R., and JONES, W. I. Jan. 9, 1946, No. 835. [Class 50] Fuel briquettes are manufactured from coal with a pitch having a melting point of at least 95‹C. as a binder by subjecting a mixture of finely divided wet coal and pitch to a preliminary moulding operation, drying and heating the shapes so formed to a temperature above the melting point of the pitch but not higher than 150‹C. and subjecting the shapes while hot to a briquetting operation at a pressure up to 2¢ tons per sq. in. Specifications 14,841/11 and 29,009/13, [both in Class 50], are referred to.
