Abstract

604,267. Gun mountings on aircraft. NASH, A. F. Sept. 16, 1935, No. 25627. [Class 92 (i)] A mounting for a gun or other instrument, particularly for aeroplanes, consists of a pair of levers 5 pivoted at a point on the cockpit 1 and connected at one end by a link 6 with a pivotally mounted seat 8, the opposite ends of the levers being pivotally connected at 16 with a member 17 secured to the gun. The member 17 is pivotally connected at a point 18, to the rear of point 16, with a link 19 which pivots at 20 on the cockpit in advance of the pivot points of the levers 5. In the construction shown, side members 7 of the seat are pivoted at 9 to a stay 3 and are each connected by a link 10 with a slipper block 11 which is moved up and down by fluid pressure in a cylinder 14, thus raising and lowering the seat as the gun is depressed or elevated.
