602,890. Liquid-pressure engines ; valves. DETREZ, R. July 27, 1945, No. 19267. Convention date, Aug. 5, 1944. [ Classes 69 (ii) and 135] In a distributer of liquid for controlling hydraulic movements pairs of discs are superposed on a shaft 4 on which they are free to slide, each pair comprising a rotary disc 6<SP>1</SP> driven by the shaft and a non-rotary disc 5<SP>1</SP> held at its periphery, the whole of the pairs of discs being surmounted by a non-rotary disc and held in contact, e.g. by spring pressure. Each rotary disc has openings 24, 25, Fig. 5. One face of each non-rotary disc has distributing passages as shown in Fig. 6, the other face having concentric passages as in Fig. 8. Liquid under pressure enters each no-rotary disc at 17, fills the passage 26, flows through the rotary disc at 24<SP>1</SP> into the passage 7 and thence from the passage 21 to the hydraulic apparatus. Liquid displaced by the hydraulic apparatus enters the distributer at 22, fills the passage 9, flows through the rotary disc at 25<SP>1</SP> into the passage 27 from whence it is evacuated through the passage 18. On completion of the stroke of the hydraulic apparatus the shaft 4 is rotated to turn the rotary disc to bring the opening 24 into register with the passage 11 and the opening 25 into register with the passage 12 so that the direction of flow of the liquid to and from the hydraulic apparatus is reversed.
