Abstract
602,761. Collapsable perambulators. UNDERWOODS PATENTS, Ltd. Oct. 9, 1945, No. 26282. Convention date, Oct. 9, 1944. [Class 108 (i)] A collapsable perambulator comprises a combined handle and leg member 1, a leg member 2 crossing and pivoted thereto at 23, a body 12 pivoted to the leg member 2 at 24 and slidable by a sleeve 18 on the combined handle and leg member 1, and wheels 5, 9 mounted on the lower portions of the leg members. The ends of each of the leg members are connected by transverse bars 1a, 2a, to which the wheels are attached by leaf springs 6, 10 and a clip 11 on the transverse bar 1a engages the bar 2a to hold the pram in its collapsed position. The sleeve 18 is limited in its downward movement on the leg member 1 by a stop 20 and a handle 7a on the body is provided to assist in collapsing the pram. A hood 21 and cover 7 may be provided. The pram is secured in its collapsed position by a strap 22, Fig. 2, which connects the bottom of the body and its upper frame 7.
