Abstract

602,180. Rotary engines. MONDOT, P. M. Aug. 20, 1945, No. 21167. Convention date, Nov. 21, 1944. [Class 110 (ii)] An engine of the inclined-disc type, driven by steam or any other elastic fluid, comprises a rotor 3, having a diametrical slot to accommodate an oscillating-vane 10 within a rim 5 of the rotor. The rim has gaps 6, 7 which allow working-fluid to enter the working chamber through inlets 8, 9 and exhaust through ports 8<1>, 9<1>. Recesses 6<1>, 7<1> in the vane allow expanding fluid to pass into the following space behind the vane for further expansion. The ports 8, 9 may be arranged in the casing sides.
