601,478. Converting. STEVENS, A. H. (Electronic Laboratories, Inc.). Sept. 26, 1945, No. 24934. [Class 38 (ii)] In a voltage multiplying system, the load is connected in series with a D.C. source and first one and then the other of a pair of inductively connected windings, and in the winding so connected a voltage is induced by the other winding which is simultaneously connected directly across the D.C. source. Vibratory interrupters 6, 9 are operated by a magnet 14 associated with driving contact 16, so that contacts 7, 11 and then contacts 8, 12 are closed together. When contacts 7 are closed, battery 4 sends current through inductance 2 which induces in inductance 3 an E.M.F. which is added to the battery voltage in the circuit to output leads 10, 13 which is completed by the closing of contacts 11. Similarly, a voltage of similar magnitude and sense is produced between leads 10, 13 when contacts 8, 12 are closed.
