601,443. Prestressed reinforced concrete. BILLIG, K. May 16, 1945, No. 27795/47. Divided out of 596,678 and addition to 561,135. [Class 20(iv)] In a method of producing a prestressed reinforced precast or monolithic concrete beam, column, pole, pile, slab, sheet pile, pit prop &c. having a rectilinear section a part of which section would not normally be provided with prestressed reinforcements, the reinforcing comprises a multiplicity of tensioned wires distributed throughout the section of the structure including said part which would not normally be reinforced, and the tension of the wires is such that in the finished structure the concrete is permanently under compression. The structural units produced as above may be combined with concrete cast in situ to form floors or walls.
