601,236. Liquid-fuel tanks. SOC. ANON. DES USINES CHAUSSON. May 7, 1945, No. 11574. Convention date, Nov. 7, 1944. [Class 69 (i)] A liquid fuel tank comprises two elements, each having a reinforcing structure formed of partitions 11, 12, 30 transversely spaced to channel-shaped stiffeners 5, 27, the stiffeners and partitions being welded to each other and to the walls of the tank. The partitions are provided with recesses 18 and 31 and lightening holes 20. When the two elements are assembled, the two sets of partitions adjoin each other, the lower partitions carrying securing members 23, each having an internally-threaded member holding a screw which passes through the surface 24 of the upper element to secure the two elements together, the peripheral joint being welded. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect, 91 states also that the channel-shaped stiffeners may be replaced by partitions, and in assembling the two elements a pin may be passed through interlocking hinge portions formed on aligned partitions. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
