Abstract

164,956. Denson, J. D. May 26,1920. Planes, arrangement and construction of.-The main spars 14 of an aeroplane wing, shown in underneath plan in Fig. 1, have tongues 13 detachably fitted into forked members 12 detachably secured in the fuselage by pins 12<1>, the outer ends of the spars 14 being threaded over a removable rod 19 which also passes through the ends of inclined stays 22 detachably connected toforked members 21<1> on the fuselage. The forked members 12 have transverse recesses in their ends engaged by projections on the spars 14, and recesses in the members 21' interlock with projections on the stays 22 when the latter are at their correct angle. The members 21<1> are detachably secured to the fuselage by pins similar to the pins 12'. The planes are detachable from the spars 14.
