Abstract
601,231. Building-blocks; walls. LAPPER, F. March 10, 1945, No. 6027. [Classes 20(iv) and 87(i)] A building-block is formed on one side face with vertical projections 2, 3, separated by an undercut recess 6, and with at least one groove 7 in each end face, the dimensions of the recess and projections being such that when a wall is formed of two abutting tiers of blocks with the abutting projections of two adjacent blocks in one tier located centrally in the recess between the projections of a block of the abutting tier, the spaces 11, formed at the ends of the recesses permit the insertion of reinforcements for mortar with which the spaces are filled. The blocks may be slightly spaced apart to provide air spaces 13. A corner block 14 is provided. The blocks may be of honeycomb or cavity formation. In a modification, Fig. 10 (not shown), the blocks of the two surfaces of the wall are staggered vertically.
