Abstract
600,185. Prefabricated walls. WOLFSOHN, J. I. Feb. 8, 1943, No. 2023. [Classes 20(iv) and 87(i)] Wall sheets or units 1, 2, of expanded sheet metal, wire mesh or net, are provided with tubular eye members 1a, 2a, formed by cutting away parts of the unit at its edges and bending the remaining tongues into hook form, said hooks oeing staggered in adjacent sheets so that a continuous vertical tube is formed by the hooks. Reinforcement 14 is placed in the tube thus formed. The adjacent sheets may be in line or may meet at an angle. Instead of integral hook extensions, separate members may be provided, preferably of perforated material, secured to the edges of the wall sheets as required during erection. The tubular structure thus formed may be filled with concrete by providing shuttering 8, 9, Fig. 6, which may include edge. strips of adjacent sheets, or shuttering may be omitted and concrete poured into the tubular space as in Fig. 5. Finishing plaster or facing boards may be applied to the wall units. The sheets may alternatively be asbestos board, mill board, or the material known under the Registered Trade Mark " Hy-rib."
