Abstract

599,938. Spindle driving arrangements for textile twisting machines. LLOYD (ROCHDALE), Ltd., R. A., and LLOYD, R. A. Sept. 25, 1945, No. 24802. [Class 120 (ii)] Spindles driven from an endless belt travelling from end to end of an up-twister machine and mounted to be individually movable out of contact with the belt are provided with a spring pressure device adapted to maintain the spindle in contact with the belt or to hold it away after removal from the belt. A spindle B is mounted in a holder A pivoted at c and in operative position, Fig. 2, is spring pressed against a belt D by a compression spring F surrounding a rod E. One end of the rod E is pivotally mounted to the holder A at a' and the other end is slidably mounted in a rotatable pin c<1>. The compression of the spring F may be varied by adjusting a nut e on one end of the rod E. When the spindle is moved into the inoperative position, Fig. 3, the spring F presses the end a of the holder A against a stop c<3>.
