Abstract

599,191. Electric hair curlers. KENNEY, T. Sept. 12, 1944, No. 17381. [Class 39 (iii)] A hair curler is formed from sheet or strip material bent to form a tube 1 tapered from its ends towards its centre assembled about a heat-resisting and insulating ceramic tube 3 surrounding a resistance wire 9, the ends 4 of the tube 1 being screwed or cemented in end bushes 5, 6 of insulating material in which are mounted terminals 7 slotted to grip the resistance wire. The edges of the strips, which may form half tubes are soldered or brazed together, or the tube may be formed from a single strip twisted with a spiral line of join.
