[Class 39 (iii)] Elements 8 comprising a resistance wound on a mica strip and enclosed in a flat tube are mounted in a holder 12 so that for the major part of their length they are further from the axis 14 than they are at the point where they enter the holder. The elements 8 diverge as shown in Fig. 2 or are formed to semicircular contour and arranged as shown in Fig. 3. A second set of elements may be arranged inside the first set, as shown in Fig. 3 in broken lines.
