627,670. Electric heating resistances. TERRELL, J. R. F. July 31, 1947, No. 20713. [Class 39(iii)] A helically coiled heating wire 11 is located in a metal tube 10, to be filled with insulating material, by threading on the wire tubular shaped centralizing members 12 of insulating material formed with two or more angularly spaced and flattened portions 13 and 14. The centralizing members may be spaced apart by independent or integrally formed tubular spacing members or, alternatively, they may be held in position by crimping the metal tube at their locations or, if of fusible material, the flattened portions 13 and 14 are heated and squeezed on to the heating wire. The centralizing members are preferably of glass or porcelain.
