Abstract

598,876. Brassieres. GLUCKIN, E. W, Sept. 21, 1945, No. 24531. Convention date, Sept. 30, 1944. [Class 141] A brassiere includes a pair of breast pockets, the central lower portion of each of whichcomprises relatively movable parts having free edges and strap members extending therefrom, one strap member being ' attached to the outer side edge of the pocket and the other strap . member being attached to the upper central portion of the opposed pocket. The breast pockets 10 and 11, joined together by the central seam 12, are provided with darts 19 and 20 extending downwardly to points 21 and 22,-thus leaving the edge portions 23, 24, Fig: 3, free to move relatively to each other. A pair of elastic members 26 are arranged on the outer surface of the brassiere, one being attached to the free portion 23 of pocket 11 and the other to the equivalent point on pocket 10, and each is secured at its other end to the appropriate seam 27 where a pocket joins a band 14 or 13. Attached to each of the other free edge portions 24 is a wide tab 28 having a strap 30 or 29 attached thereto. The straps, after extending outwardly through apertures 32, 31 and crossing each other, are attached to elastic straps 35, 36 respectively, the latter being attached to the upper corner portions of the pockets.
