Abstract
755,556. Brassieres. NEWMAN & SONS, Inc., I. April 8, 1954 [April 14, 1953], No. 10340/54. Class 141. A brassiere including right and left breast pockets 10, 11, Fig. 1, is provided with crossed bands 14, 15 of tapered construction, the band 14 having its wider end sewn to the lower inner edge of pocket 10 and its upper edge sewn to the lower edge of pocket 11, and similarly band 15 being sewn to the pockets in reverse relation. The lower edges of the bands are unconnected and freely movable relatively to each other. The brassiere also includes side sections 16, 17, preferably of elastic material, stitched to the outer edge of the respective pockets 10, 11 and to the narrow end of the respective bands 15, 14. Shoulder straps 22, 23 and back fastening members 20, 21 are provided, and there may be vertical stays incorporated in the side seams. The bands 14, 15 may be made wholly or partly of elastic material.
