Abstract

1,097,647. Brassieres. DOMINION CORSET CO. Ltd. Feb. 17, 1966 [Oct. 14, 1965], No. 7049/66. Heading A3V. A brassiere includes breast-cups, stretchable between small and large cup sizes and secured along their side and lower edges to a body -encircling band 6, and stretchable shoulder straps 9 each having ends 11 and 10 secured along an upper inner cup edge and along the band respectively. Upper and lower sections 14, 15 of each cup are joined by elastic seams and a reinforcing member 21 of one way stretch material is stitched along its lower edge to the section 15 and to a lining 23 and retained by stitching 26 just outside its upper edge, the upper edge of the lining 23 remaining free. The cups are secured to the band 6 my beans of re-inforcing tapes 27 which form a pocket for a stiffening wire 30. The ends of the pocket are closed by elastic tapes 32, 37 secured to the inner face of the upper edges of the cups.
